When our founder MK was 29 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. She kept it a secret from a lot of people. Inside, she was fighting demons. On the outside, she kept a smile on her face and was making people laugh with my ridiculous humor. In the meantime she was taking car loads of her things to local pawn shops and selling things that meant a lot to her. She thought she was going to die. She did know one thing, She wanted to see crystal clear aqua water. That summer, she went to the Bahamas with a couple of friends and spent from sun up until sundown in the ocean snorkeling. She saw barracuda, a giant grouper that came up out of a reef, and blue starfish running along the bottom of the ocean. It was calm and serene. And for the time she spent under the water, it took away all my mental demons and what she was facing in reality. There was a place called Nipper's on another island she took a boat to that was so colorful. She remembers playing volleyball for hours with strangers and snorkeling and diving down and watching the lobsters. It was the trip she needed, the aqua water and the sunshine.
